This Privacy Policy explains what information the DOPE app ("the App") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Your gear and settings: the firearms, optics, ammunition selections, loadouts, and preferences you create in the App.
- Operational data: basic security and diagnostic information (such as rate-limiting counters and server error logs) needed to keep the service running and safe.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks. The ballistics calculations run on your device.
How we use your information
- To provide the App's features and save your gear and loadouts.
- To authenticate you and secure your account.
- To send account-related email such as password resets.
Service providers
We use a small number of infrastructure providers strictly to operate the App: a cloud host and database to store your account and gear, and an email provider to deliver password-reset messages. These providers process data only on our behalf.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, connections are encrypted in transit, and authenticated API routes enforce per-user access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
The App is not directed to children and is intended for adults.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
